Industrial Visit is an integral part of our B.B.A. program. The objective of the Industrial
Visit is to make the students aware about how the theory of business administration is
practically implemented in various departments like production, human resource, marketing
and finance etc.
Moreover, industrial visit also provide practical exposure about the working and
functioning of industries of various types, through which the overall knowledge of Growth
and Structure of Industries can be strengthened. By undertaking such kind of visits the First
Year B.B.A. students can not only know the theoretical aspects but also acquire the practical
application of the theoretical studies.

HISTORY OF THE UNIT –
Mr. Balvantsing Rajput & Mr. Kanubai Thakar started the unit under the name of Gokul
Industries in year 1993 at the survey No. 375(2) at Kutch. Later on the unit had transformed
in to a Private Ltd. Concern and subsequently to the Public Limited Company under the name
of “Gokul Refoils & Solvents Limited” as the time passes. The company is engaged in
producing Edible- Oil viz. Refined Oil and Unrefined Oil, De-oil Cakes and Solvent oil with
initial production of 60 tones per day.
Mr. Balvantsing Rajput and Mr. Kanubhai Thakar are foresighted businessmen, with a
vision to lead the industry a far long way, sowed the seeds of this successful corporate at the
later stages. From time to time the company improved their product with a view to making an
image in the oil markets not only in the state but across the whole country and many parts of N.G.E.S. COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES , PATAN 8

the world with the latest machinery and improved equipments. It’s current production capacity
is 400 Metric Tones.
The company is mainly engaged in the business of producing and refining vegetable oil,
solvent extraction and de-oiling.
The network of the company has spread all over India and also exporting the De Oil Cakes to
selected countries.

2.1 INTRODUCTION
The production department is the heart and blood of an industry. Production department plays
an important role in manufacturing of the production. Production may include sub points
likewise production process and systems, production process flow chart, quality policy, raw
material, suppliers of raw material, production capacity and installed capacity of the
organization and related matters.
The Production Department is right now operated by Mr. Kantibhai Patel who is also working
in the capacity of director. The production department manily includes the Oils refineries and
Oil Extraction Plants, Solvent Plants and Oil Packaging plants.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The major edible oils processed in the plant are Soybean oil, Sunflower oil, Palm oil, Mustard
oil, Ground-nut oil & Vanaspati oil.
The process of refining starts with the crude oil first being Degummed - a process in which the
stocky material is removed from the crude. The acidity in the oil is then removed by
neutralizing it with caustic soda to improve the aesthetics of the oil; it is bleached & then
deodorized. Bleaching improves the colour of the oil to acceptable levels & deodorization
removes the objectionable order from the oil.
The refined or hydrogenated oils are then packed in consumer packs, tins or sold loose in
tanker.

• SUNFLOWER OIL
Refined Sunflower oil is light, nutritious, and healthy, that is easy to digest. It consists mostly
of polyunsaturated fatty acids and is low in saturated fats. Rich in vitamins, Gokul Refined
Sunflower Oil goes through the highly specialized process of winterization that removes
almost all the wax content in the oil, making it the lightest oil available today.

• PALM OIL
Palm oil is extracted from the mature fresh fruit bunches (FFBs) of oil palm plantations.
One hectare of oil palm yields approximately 20 FFBs, which when crushed yields 6 tons of
oil tons of oil (including the kernel oil, which is used both for edible &Indus trial purpose).

oil, cooking oil, palm oil, reseeded oil, soybeans oil & vegetable oil in available of different
type of weight in different packing tin in the market for the society.
• COOKING OIL
Gokul refined cooking oil, which is a refined polyolefin, is clear & odorless oil that helps to
bring out the aroma of the food cooked in it. It is extremely stable to high temperatures
especially during frying & it helps to maintain the flavor of your food. Thus, making it an
excellent cooking medium for deep-frying. It is used in the preparation of fried snacks like
French-fries & potato wafers. It is also a source of vitamin a & vitamin E.

De-oiled cakes have major sources of refoils for livestock. These are primary used as fertilizer
or cattle food for additional processing they can also be used for edible purpose such as for
non-edible purpose like Aryuvedic Medicines, Fertilizers, Animal food etc. out of total
production of De-Oiled Cake around 80 % production is exported in various countries.

The wage and salary of the employee depend on its experience knowledge and education
qualification. When any managerial person recruits so that time the company shown his
education qualification and his knowledge. It is depend on its skill about that job and when
any operator person recruit in the company so that time company shown his experience about
that specific work so this type company decide salary is specified.
Wage of the operational person depend on its working hour caudally person’s salary is
minimum Rs. 95/- day at working 8 hour in the company.

also meet at the monthly wages.

Financial management is concern mainly with such a matter as how business co- operation
raises its finance and how it makes use of it.
In the modern business the finance is the blood of the business economy. One can not image
business activity. The finance function is equally important for profit or non- profit
organization. Therefore the financial management has been assigned the short term and long
term financial needs of the firm.
So far as GRSL is concerned, it is a big unit in contest of edible oil products. During the
existence it has not faced any problem of finance.

CONCLUSION
I Visited the Gokul Refoils and Solvents ltd. For period of 3 days the response from
the every department to collect information helped me a lot. We are very much
thankful to GRSL. The company extended full support me to get right and correct
information from every department. The main purpose of my visit is to develop
practical training among student. The books do not help very much. It is only the
practical training which helped me to know how the industry of operates. This
practical knowledge is helpful to the students. Over and the above knowledge which I
got from the books, this was a support knowledge and best experience. I really, from
my heart thank the President, HR manager, HR assistant and all those who helped
me to get the better information of industrial operations.
The company is marketing its best products. I could realize that the company
produces the quality products at a medium price so that the consumers get the
benefit of lower price and quality product
In my opinion the company making a reasonable profit the company cares
much to satisfy the consumers and the customers buy quality product.
