Johanna rom Switzerland writes about
her experience at Good Hope Studies:
In my opinion the courses at Good HopeStudies are on the one hand per ect to learn
English an on the other hand to learn some-
thing about the country and its inhabitants.
Todays class is a good example o that.
In the morning we did phrasal verbs and
prepositions because we students think
that we still need some practise with these
subjects. So at Good Hope Studies, the stu-
dents and the teacher decide together what to do in the lessons. A ter the tea break, we
spoke about South A rica and watched a
documentary about the country. Then we
discussed what weve seen. Its very interest-
ing to learn English by learning something
about the country. Id like to go home in a
ew months and be able to tell my amily
a lot o things about the country and its
history, and Im sure that I will learn enough
to do so when Im back home. Not only isthe course great, but also the teachers are
very kind. In my second week here I was very
homesick. My teacher noticed that and went
to Rhodes Memorial with me or a little walk
in this Nature Park. That was nice o her
and Im really grate ul to the school that the
teachers are so sympathetic and very loving
people.
Besides the course you can meet new people
nearly every week and the school excursions
are great! Next weekend Ill go on sa ari
which Im looking orward to. I ts great that I
can do such experiences o li e here in South
A rica.
Classes held in a pleasant environment make learning so much more enjoyable.
Our teachers take the students needs into account and design their classes around them.
