Equal Rights Amendment
• An amendment to guarantee gender equality under the law
• Phyllis Schlafly opposed ERAbelieved it would make women fight in the military, end sex-segregated bathrooms, and hurt the family
• ERA failed to pass Congress due to fear of embracing untraditional roles of females.
Successes• Title VII of CRA of 1964—outlawed
