Nicholas Lenz !11/29/13!Dr. R.T. Good !First-Year Seminar !!!! Equality…that is the first word that comes to my mind when I think of
this presentation . Equality is a value that is slowly being forgotten in our
society today and to have a single place that all ethnicities and races can
come and see how their culture influenced the place that they are living now is
something that is truly spectacular! The other thing that I really liked was the
design of the building itself and the location on which they are trying to build it.
The design of the building was 4 separate, very modern looking buildings that
have significant meaning (which has yet to be decided by the board and
himself). The location is going to be in a developing area of Washington D.C.
in which business would flourish thus supporting the economic growth of the
area. The location for the museum would also be stationed right outside of
one of the busiest Metro stops in Washington D.C. making travel to the
museum easy and accessible to many people. Another thing that really
sparked my interest is the idea he was presenting about having people be

swabbed when entering the museum and leaving with results of a genealogy
background. How cool is that?!? Walking in, giving a saliva sample,
researching what your ancestors contributed to our country, and then leaving
with a genealogy lineage. It is such a ground breaking idea! This museum
would be a perfect example of global awareness, opening peoples eyes to
what all the different people in our country had to contribute to America,
making it the diverse melting pot that it is today! !
