LivingthingsclassificationLivingthingsareclassifiedintofivekingdoms:Monera,Protist,Fungus,PlantandAnimal.Eachgroupsharesspecificcharacteristicswhichdifferentiatethemfromothergroups.MoneraKingdom.Organismsinthiskingdomarealwaysunicellular:theyhavenonucleusororganellesintheircell’scytoplasm.Bacteriabelongtothisgroup.ProtistKingdom.Organismsinthiskingdomaremorecomplex:theyhaveanucleusandorganellesintheircytoplasmandoftenhavemovingpartssotheycanpropelthemselves.FungusKingdom.Organismsinthiskingdomaremoresophisticated.Fungiareoften(butnotalways)multicellularandtheyabsorbnutrientsfromtheirhost.PlantKingdom.Organismsinthiskingdomareallmulticellular.Plantsmaketheirownfoodthroughphotosynthesis.Theycanbedividedintofloweringandnon-floweringplants,dependingonhowtheyreproduce.AnimalKingdom.Organismsinthiskingdomareallmulticellular.Animalsgetenergybyconsumingotherorganisms.Theyaredividedintovertebrateandinvertebrateanimals,dependingontheirbodystructure.

fermentationanddecomposition.VirusesVirusesaremuchsmallerthancells,theydonotbelonginanyofthefivekingdomsbecausetheydonothavethecharacteristicsalllivingthingsshare.However,theydoreproduceandtodothistheyneedtoinvadecells.Whenavirusinvadesacell,itusesthecelltomakecopiesofitself.Eventuallythecellburstsandthecopiesofthevirusspreadtoothercells.
