Requirement from Vendor: -
Complete drawings and details covering the storage tank, connections and accessories
shall be submitted for Jacobss review and approval.
The data shall include information on all tank fabrication, materials of construction, and
data confirming chemical resistance of the proposed resins to the intended tank contents.
Drawings shall include a profile of the entire tank indicating the thickness, resin
designation, reinforcement, and surfacing mat material of the structural and corrosionbarrier layers.
The drawings shall also indicate the sizes of all major tank components and/or
accessories.
Two methods of manufacturing FRP tanks are: -
1) Contact molding Or hand lay up2) Filament winding
It is most important before using a FRP (resin) that it is approved for food contactapplications, and it is checked for its compatibility not only with the product but also for
chemicals used for cleaning & decontamination. SHE-6FRP to be used shall comply with regulations such as Directive 90/128/EEC, TheGerman list of constituents (BgVV, former BGA), The USA code of Federal
regulations of the FDA (CFR 21, parts 170 to 199) (latest edition)and local statutory
regulations applicable for food grade / hygienic applications. SHE-6
The addition of light stabilizers (UV absorbers) will improve the light resistance ofpolymers and will also protect the processed food from UV radiation. SHE-6
