It is in great sorrow that we report the passing of George Rea, this past October. George, an SAMC mem-ber since 2007, was always there for the club by running all the raffles, with a smile on his face. George won awards for his cars, including MCA shows in Washington and

It was a festive event with SAMC joining other
car clubs in the area. Don’t forget that we take
down the tree on January 3rd at CAM followed
by a SAMC group lunch.

bought it, when I asked him why he
didn’t drive it, he said the front end need-
ed to be rebuilt and he wanted to do the
Charger first. He did get an award at the
MCA show in Washington last year, but
most of the shows he went to he just went
for the experience. He joined the year
after I did 2007. Bought a new 2007
Mustang GT, blue with white stripes,
just like his Shelby. Funny thing about
his Shelby, he wanted to modify his GT
with a Hurst shifter and a tuning up-
grade but was worried about the warran-
ty, so when he went to the dealer to talk
about the upgrades he sees the Shelby on
the lot. It has all the things he was look-
ing for so he traded in the GT and
bought the Shelby. I told him at the next
meeting that most people just wash the car
and empty the ash trays.

MUSTANG CLUB CREDO
More important than the Mustangs—are the new friendships
each of us as members will make. It doesn’t matter if you have
a 64 1/2 or a modified late model Mustang. It doesn’t mat-
ter if your car is concourse quality or marred with rock chips.
What does matter, is that we all are pointed in the same di-
rection. There shall be no idle complaints about fellow mem-
bers. The motivation must be for us to succeed as a group.
