What is FIRST ®
Robotics
Competition?
The excitement of sport, the rigors of science
Under strict rules, limited resources, and the guidance of volunteer mentors including engineers, teachers, business professionals, parents, alumni and more, teams of 25+ students have just six weeks to build and program robots to perform challenging tasks against a field of competitors.
They must also raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and perform community outreach.
In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $25+ million in college scholarships.

How does it work?
• During the off season we focus on organization, team building, acquiring skills, community outreach, and fundraising.
• In January, the new game is announced and our build season runs through mid-February.
• Then it’s competition time! We take our robot and travel to arenas where we compete with other FIRST® teams.
How can we help you?
The Flying Legion is always looking for ways to give back to the community. Get in touch with us and one of our academic advisors will be happy to speak with you.
