The modular layout and flexible construction kit of the RS platform allows for maximum customization to meet individual customer requirements. The sandwich plate design makes it possible to freely combine the number of directional valves of size 20 with valve sections from the RS15 platform. Functions with very different flow requirements can be covered within one combined valve block, providing an optimized solution with regards to installation space, weight and cost.
Functions that previously could not be integrated into the main control block can now be combined in one control block. These include the stabilizing module (RSM20), the priority module (RBM15) and the anti-drift valve (ADV).
The pump and return flow channels pass through the entire control block without diversions or restrictions.
Features ▶ Free combination of LUDV, LS and anti-drift valve
sections ▶ Single-sided electrohydraulic control ▶ Electroproportional tank pre-load pressure adjustment
for cavitation-free movement or efficient movement without counter-pressure (inlet with double ports)
▶ Self-bleeding control covers to quickly and sustainably remove air out of the cover.
▶ Asymmetrical return flow channels (The channel R1 which is assigned to the consumer ports A has been enlarged in its cross section in order to optimally discharge high return flow quantities (of the cylinder head side).)
Further information ▶ Possible combinations RS modular system

3 Control block | RS20 Functional description
Functional description
GeneralType RS20 control blocks are based on hydraulically or electrohydraulically actuated flow sharing (LUDV) directional valves. The RS20 control block essentially consists of the inlet, several directional valves of the same or different sizes and an end section or end plate with optional additional ports.
InletThe inlet has line connections for pump (P), return flow (R), load-sensing (LS) and a measuring port (MP) as well as two mounting points. It contains all central functions (for variants and details, see page 4).
Directional valve sectionBasically, three RS20 directional valve variants are available (for details see page 5):
▶ LUDV section ▶ LUDV section with anti-drift valve (ADV) ▶ LS section
The flexible, modular construction kit allows for a high level of customization of each directional valve section.
Each standard valve RS20 (flange surfaces on both sides) essentially consists of the housing (1), a control spool (3), two load-holding valves (7), a pressure compensator (6) and secondary valves (2).
End valve sectionThe end section is a standard valve section with a single-sided flange surface (without the possibility of extension) and has an additional mounting point.
End plateAlternatively, end plates with optional ports and additional functions are applicable.

Additional functions: ▶ Unloading valve ▶ LS flow control valve / LS drain valve ▶ LS pressure relief valve
(single-stage or electroproportionally variable) ▶ Return flow preload valve ▶ Primary pressure relief valve (pump pressure) ▶ LS damping valve ▶ Pilot oil generation ▶ Pilot oil shut-off

Inlet with double ports, e.g. for wheeled loadersThis inlet can be extended with RSM20 and RS20 sections. The first RS20 ADV section mounted to the inlet is internally connected to the replicated ports A' and B' as well as to the stabilizing module (RSM20).A stabilizing module (RSM20) can be mounted directly on the RS15 flange face, providing a fully integrated solution with internal interconnections to the work ports A and B, the pump channel and the return flow. For further information on the RSM20, see data sheet 64628.
Additional functions: ▶ Unloading valve ▶ LS flow control valve / LS drain valve ▶ Regeneration check valve (anti-cavitation valve) from
return line to rod side ▶ LS pressure relief valve
(single-stage or electroproportionally variable) ▶ Return flow preload valve
(optional electroproportionally variable) ▶ LS damping valve ▶ Pilot oil generation (optional) ▶ Pilot oil shut-off (optional)

LUDV sectionThe LUDV section contains a pressure compensator downstream of the metering orifice and two large load-holding valves. The section flow depends on the ∆p between MP and LS1 at the inlet.Various types of cartridge valves/plugs1) are available on the consumer ports (secondary side). The section can be controlled hydraulically or electrohydraulically. In the case of electrohydraulic actuation, the pilot oil is supplied internally.

LUDV section with anti-drift valveThe ADV section is an extended LUDV section. Between the consumer port (A and/or B) and the control spool, an unlockable check valve (ADV valve) is installed to shut off the consumer. The ADV option is available on A, B or on both sides.
A special variant of the ADV section is the version with an additional A and B port in the flange surface (e.g. for wheeled loaders, dozers). In combination with the special wheeled loader inlet, double ports (A', B') can be implemented in the inlet (for an example, see page 9).

LS sectionThe LS section has the same flange face as the LUDV section and therefore can be located freely within the RS20 stack. The pressure compensator is connected upstream of the metering orifice and operates independently of the ∆p between MP and LS1 at the inlet. This functional principle ensures semi-prioritisation of the consumer connected to the LS section (e.g. slew drive).Within the LS section, the LS pressure can be set individually (independent of the system pressure). In addition, the LS pressure relief valve can be adjusted electroproportionally. In hydraulic systems, but also as an option in the electrohydraulic system, the proven hydraulic torque control DTS can be implemented.Various cartridge valves/plugs1) can also be installed on the secondary side, in case the LS section is used as an auxilliary section.

6 RS20 | Control blockModular system
Bypass priority module RBM15An RBM15 can be mounted directly on the RS15 flange face in order to supply the priority consumer (e.g. steering) with flow.
▶ Only one pump required for supplying steering system and implement hydraulics
▶ The flow is available in parallel to the working hydraulics and steering with low pressure losses
▶ The prioritization of the steering is carried out indirectly via the pressure in the CLS connection that closes the LUDV pressure compensators in the working hydraulics.
▶ In contrast to standard full-flow priority solutions, the bypass priority module avoids additional pressure losses on the pump flow as long as the pump is able to saturate the total flow requirement of all consumers, which results in a significantly improved energy efficiency.
NoticeThe functional principle cannot be used for all configurations! Please consult your sales representative.
