FLASH INFORMATIVO PREMIOS OSCAR
Los Premios Oscar, también llamados Premio de la Academia son un premio concedido por la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias en reconocimiento a la excelencia de los profesionales en la industria cinematográfica, incluyendo directores, actores y escritores y es ampliamente considerado el máximo honor en el cine. El Oscar es llamado oficialmente Premio de la Academia al Mérito, y es el principal de los nueve premios que se otorgan. El acto formal, en el cual los premios son presentados, es una de las ceremonias más prominentes y prestigiosas del mundo, y es transmitida en vivo anualmente para más de cien países. Es también la ceremonia de premiación más antigua en los medios de comunicación. La primera ceremonia de premios tuvo lugar el 16 de mayo de 1929, en el hotel Roosevelt en Los Ángeles, en honor a los logros cinematográficos obtenidos en los años de 1927 a 1928. La 84ma ceremonia (la más reciente) tuvo lugar el 26 de febrero de 2012 en el Dolby Theatre, en honor a los logros cinematográficos obtenidos en 2011.

El origen de la palabra “Oscar” tiene muchas versiones, algunos aseguran que la bibliotecaria de la academia, Margaret Henrrick, recordaba con la estatuilla a su tío con ese nombre, pero se hizo popular en 1934, cuando Sidney Skolsky lo usó en su columna periodística para hablar del premio a la mejor actriz para Katharine Hepburn y se hizo oficial hasta 1939. La primera transmisión televisada de los Óscar fue en 1953, por la NBC. Esta cadena continuó la transmisión hasta 1960, cuando pasó a manos de ABC, que luego pasó nuevamente a manos de NBC entre 1970 hasta 1976, para regresar con ABC, el cual tiene un contrato de transmisión hasta el año 2020. En 2007, la ceremonia fue vista por cerca de 40 millones de estadounidenses. La publicidad es algo restringido, ya que ni los estudios, ni los competidores que sean patrocinadores oficiales de los premios, pueden emitir anuncios comerciales durante la ceremonia. Es muy común que los cantantes que compusieron y/o grabaron las canciones nominadas al Óscar actúen en la ceremonia, esto para promover el rating de la transmisión.

- Spencer Tracy, fue el primer actor en conseguir dos premios Oscar consecutivos. El primero en 1938 por su actuación en Captains Courageous y el segundo en 1939 por Boys Town. Le sigue en esta hazaña, Tom Hanks, quien recibiera en 1994 el Oscar por Philadelphia y al año siguiente 1995, por Forrest Gump su segundo Oscar, como mejor actor. - Katherine Hepburn, es la única actriz en lograr 4 premios Oscar. 1934-1968-1969-1982. - Hattie MacDaniel, fue la primera afroamericana, en ganar un premio Oscar, como mejor actriz de reparto en 1940, en la película Gone with the Wind. - Miyoshi Umeki, fue la primera mujer japonesa en ganar un premio Oscar, como mejor actriz de reparto en 1958. - Rita Moreno, fue la primera mujer latina en ganar un premio Oscar, como mejor actriz de reparto, por West Side Story en 1962. - Las únicas películas que han ganado los cinco premios más importantes (mejor película, mejor actor, mejor actriz, mejor director y mejor guión) han sido "Sucedió Una Noche" (1934), "Alguien Voló Sobre El Nido Del Cuco" (1975) y "El Silencio De Los Corderos" (1991). - George C. Scott, en 1971 rechaza su Oscar como mejor actor, por su papel en la película bélica Patton. A los dos años, en 1973 Marlon Brando hace lo mismo y rechaza su Oscar de mejor actor por The Godfather en protestas por el maltrato a los nativos americanos.

- Tatum O´Neal, hija del también actor Ryan O´Neal, logra convertise en la persona más joven en recibir un premio Oscar como mejor actriz de reparto, contando con tan sólo 9 años; en su papel en Paper Moon,1974. - Meryl Streep ha sido nominada a los premios de la academia en 17 oportunidades, logrando conseguir sólo dos premios; por la Decisión de Sophia y Krammer VS Krammer. Este año, opta por el extraordinario papel de Margareth Tacher en Lady Iron. - El segundo actor afroamericano en ganar un premios Oscar, como mejor actor de reparto fue Louis Gosset Jr. por An Officer and a Gentleman,1983 - En el 2002, por primera vez, el premio para la mejor actriz va para una afroamericana, Halle Barry, además fue la primera vez mejor actor y actriz de ese año fueran afroamericanos, pues Denzel Washington consigue su segundo Oscar, pero esta vez como mejor actor. - Javier Bardem, se convierte en el primer actor español en ganar un premio de la Academia como mejor actor de reparto; al año siguiente, su actual esposa Penélope Cruz, se convirtió en la primera actriz española en conseguir la estatuilla como mejor actriz de reparto en la película de Woody Allen, Vicky-Cristina Barcelona.
