Marketing: Action Plan
– Twitter reaches a lot of people, and I already
have an account with a few followers
– Focus on promoting my portfolio to start
building a reputation and “get the word out”
– Hope to gain a few visitors per tweet—any
visitors but especially people involved in media
![Page 13: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Marketing: Action Plan
– Create an email signature with the URL to my
website
– If I am interacting with someone through email,
there’s a good chance I’d like them to see my
site
– Hope to get one or two visitors per week from
this method
![Page 14: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Marketing: Implementation
• Twitter, Email, and later, Facebook
![Page 15: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Marketing: Results• Twitter and Email weren’t producing
fantastic results
![Page 16: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Marketing: Results
• …so I threw Facebook into the mix with a casual,
silly message and got much better results
![Page 17: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Marketing: Results• 33 unique visitors• Monthly increase• Bounce rate isn’t too shabby
![Page 18: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Marketing: Results• 32 visits through social media vs. 12
direct visits
![Page 19: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Marketing: Results
• Most visits came from Austin and Reno
(my hometown), unsurprisingly—but I also
had visits from various other cities
![Page 20: Final Web Design Project](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051610/54893c81b47959140d8b592f/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Marketing: Results
• My about page had the second-most visits.
Now I feel self-conscious.

Marketing: Conclusion
• When starting from the ground up in
marketing—especially if you’re
marketing yourself—it seems like a
good idea to start with
friends/acquaintances (Facebook) to
produce the best initial results.
