Junior year we were tasked with designing an apartment on Massachusetts Ave.This was the first project where we had options for clients. One was a family, and the other was a single man. I chose the single man who was more festive and wanted to show his success through his new ap-plication. I chose Shazam for my concept. This concept led me to my color and lighting choices, and the design of my custom light fixture.

6 7Le Petite Restaurant
For this project we were tasked with designing an interior of a restaurant in France. We had to use context as our concept, so I decided to make mine be the french artist Toulouse Lautrec. I specifically focused on his posters for choosing my organization and colors.

For this project we were given the problem of making a ritualistic spa with a memorable space in it. I chose to combine my pool and lounge area into the biggest space further in the back of the spa. I de-signed the spa with a night sky concept guiding me through my design ideas.

This was the first time this project has been assigned to students. My problem was to design a library using the history of librar-ies to design each space. Classic libraries focused more on silence than more modern libraries today which allow for people to be more social. The quiet study areas around the center use dark wood and more classic light fixtures and chairs. The space in the middle has a big diagonal structure which encloses it. This makes for a more mod-ern and exciting space which is for social/low-volume studying. The chairs are also different and have a more modern shape and form compared to the ones in the quiet study areas.

In drawing one we focused most of the semester on doing gesture drawings, then refining them to a final quality. I did draw-ings of both objects and perspectives. The cover drawing was of a space in the Museum of Fine Arts. The drawing to the left was of a statue also found in the Museum. The above drawing is a perspec-tive drawing of the Wentworth Library.
