In our daily
liveswe make so much waste
and waste so much
![Page 3: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
and the amount increases rapidly……
Lack of a recycle mentalityRunning out of landfill space
Twenty four(24) out of twenty nine(29) landfills will be closed in a couple of years.
Increasing demand from population growth
New capacity not being developed fast enough
WHAT IS DRIVING THE WASTE CRISIS?
![Page 4: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
if this continues, we
might need
HIM
TO MANAGE OUR WASTE

Are there any available solutions????
So what is the solution?
![Page 7: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
In waste management there are several methods which are:
Composting
Waste minimization
WASTE 2 ENERGY
![Page 8: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
WASTE 2 ENERGY
Well, have you heard about
Waste-to-Energy OR Energy-from-Waste?
![Page 9: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
In general ,it is the
process of creating Energy

What are we proposing to help contrast the imbalance ?
are sustainabl e or green

![Page 12: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
WASTE MANAGEMENT IS SUSTAINABILITY
meeting the needs of the present
without
compromising the ability of future generations
to meet their own needs
main challenging factors :
-Income growth : increasing
consumption
- population growth : fewer resources
per head
![Page 13: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
And why is sustainability so important ?
Fewer resources for future generations leading to: Higher GHG emissions and more abrupt
climate change and widespread natural disasters
Shortage in food and water and widespread famine and plagues
![Page 14: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)

Stage IThe unsorted waste (MSW) is delivered by trucks and dumped into a large separation-dissolving tank, where bioprocess liquid is already present to assist with the first hydro-mechanical separation process.
![Page 18: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Stage II: Hydro separationThe use of water in the separation processeliminates odor, formed duringwaste decomposition. With all waterRaw materials are pre-cleaned.
The preliminary liquid-based waste preparation and separation stage is based on the principle that inorganic materials, such as metals and glass, have a specific weight that is greater than water, while plastics and biodegradable organic matter have a specific weight that is equal to or less than water.
![Page 19: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Stage III: Mechanical Sorting The ArrowBio Process recovered up to 90% of the raw batch. After separation of heavy and light fractions, further segregation is done mechanically.
![Page 20: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Stage IV: Biological TreatmentOrganic wastes are subjected toanaerobic digestion process, whichconverts it into methane, soil conditioner andwater.
![Page 21: Final Draft for Burkina Presentation](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062309/55cf94a6550346f57ba3783b/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)

Willing Host Agreement to site a plant
Build a two-line mixed waste processing plant in any city with capacity for up
to 800,000 tons per year.
Financing conditional on obtaining sufficient suitable waste from local and
neighboring municipalities (preferably +50% organic)
Secured minimum of fifteen years commitment for suitable residual wastes.
Offer a competitive tipping fee f $7.50 a ton at our gates. (This price is attached
to the inflation rate.)
Provide upwards of 80% diversion of municipal waste from landfill.
Take full responsibility for waste once received and manage final disposal of all
materials

Burkina Faso’s waste crisis necessitates inspired solutions to divert more waste from landfills
Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) of mixed waste is the best solution for residential waste diversion
The ArrowBio process is the most environmentally friendly and cost effective MBT technology available
Building a 800,000 tpy plant in any city of Burkina Faso solves waste disposal issues for local and neighboring communities and provides them with extremely high diversion rates
The country will become a model waste diversion community in West Africa and beyond.
