Learn procedural techniques important to the management of medical and trauma patients.
We had a good chance to participate and showcase our systems through the Ultrasound in Resuscitation workshop with different FFSS US models such as X-Porte, EDGE II, Edge and S-Series all equipped with 3 different transducers, while Philips presented for the Focused Echo Workshop with CX60 system.
The workshop targeted physicians from all specialties that treat critically ill patients.
The objective for this workshop as following:
• Discuss the principles of physics as applied to emergency ultrasound and recognize commonly encountered artifacts and their role in image acquisition.
• Demonstrate skills in image acquisition and interpretation for core areas of emergency point of care ultrasound (eFAST, Lung and Lower limb venous scan).
• To provide scanning skills required in maximizing diagnostic ability.
• Discuss the incorporation of bedside ultrasound into the practice of emergency medicine, critical care and other specialties.
• Integrate the results of their bedside ultrasound into a patient’s clinical scenario in order to effect treatment or disposition.

THE WORLD’S FIRSTULTRASOUND KIOSKKEEPS GETTING BETTERThe X-Porte Ultrasound Kiosk fluidly brings together imaging, advanced features, and educational resources in a convenient, all-in-one kiosk design. The system was built from the ground up for your work style and environment.
And we haven’t stopped developing new capabilities for you, all included within the software maintenance program that comes standard with system purchase.
Our ability to make almost seamless enhancements to X-Porte stems from the gesture-driven touch panel that allows the addition of new features and technologies without control panel redesign and a USB-based software upgrade system.
Since, its initial release, X-Porte has had:

Ultrasound Guided Paravertebral Nerve BlocksOn Demand Presentation / Dr. Theresa Bowling will present this webinar which is designed to teach the participants how to perform an ultrasound guided thoracic paravertebral single shot nerve block and catheter placement. The relevant gross and ultrasound anatomy will be discussed and will include ultrasound video tutorials for needle and catheter placement. Indication and contraindications for performing this block will be discussed in detail. Pertinent literature supporting this block for anesthesia and analgesia will be also be presented. Clinical pearls to help participants perform this block successfully will round out this webinar on thoracic paravertebral blocks. Webinar Goals and Objectives: 1. Techniques to perform ultrasound guided thoracic paravertebral nerve blocks. 2. Anatomy, sonoanatomy, indications, contraindications, and literature review for TPVB single shot blocks and catheters 3. Video tutorial of ultrasound imaging of PVB.
Resuscitative Echocardiography:Visual Assessment and Doppler MeasurementsOn Demand Presentation / Dr. Robert Arntfield is an Assistant Professor, Director of Critical Care Ultrasound / Division of Critical Care & Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine, Western University London, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Arntfield will explore case examples to highlight the value of both basic visual assessments and more sophisticated Doppler techniques when performing echocardiography to guide resuscitation. Upon the completion of the webinar, the participant will be able to: 1. Appreciate that a visual assessment alone can satisfy the majority of important clinical questions in high-stakes resuscitation. 2. Identify scenarios where a more quantitative approach using spectral Doppler, may offer an advantage over visual assessment. 3. Identify commonly referenced quantitative approaches that confer little additional benefit for the resuscitative echocardiographer.
Starting a Point-of-Care Ultrasound ProgramOn Demand Presentation / Dr. David Cook is the Director of Emergency Ultrasound, Roper Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, SC. Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) has been incorporated into multiples of medical specialties. Beginning a hospital based ultrasound program may encounter
solutions to the initial start up process of beginning an ultrasound training program.
Diagnostic Shoulder Ultrasound Exam Part 1On Demand Presentation / Dr. Benjamin DuBois, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who devotes 100% of his practice to the treatment of shoulder disorders. Dr. DuBois has expert training in shoulder surgery, and has extensive experience in shoulder replacements, rotator cuff disorders, and arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He is trained in state of the art techniques including the reverse ball and socket shoulder replacement and performs in-office shoulder ultrasound for the immediate diagnosis of rotator cuff disorders. This Webinar focuses on Diagnostic Shoulder Ultrasound Part 1. Additional information about Dr. Benjamin DuBois can be found on his website sandiegoshoulderdoc.com.
