NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends,
I was recently inspired by an article written by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale on “Hope.” Not to be taken for granted, hope is a key ingredi-ent when it comes to living our lives to the fullest. Without it, prob-lems can consume us. With hope we can expect that desired out-comes can happen, and we won’t be defeated by the adversities or challenges faced in life. Hope makes us strong when we are weak, it can bring us back to health when we are sick or turn failures into successes. It really is a quality we all possess but at times we for-get we have. Let us remind each other of hope during those times—to let Hope back in the equation. We must have hope, and we must have each other for the inspiration. A most inspiring note sent to me by a member not long ago often comes to mind when I
am ever needing to cling to hope. This member was faced with
serious health issues and declining rapidly. This beloved gentle-man, despite his “hopeless” fate, took the time to send a note stat-ing “Everything is going to be O.K.” Those profound words of hope and courage will always be my inspiration. I hope they will now be
yours as well.
Fondly, Donna

PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE
BY LYNDA CRAN
A THOUGHT PROVOKING IDEA!!!
-If the Shirley Doane Senior Center was not here, where would all the members and visitors go for friend-
ship, fellowship, and hugs? The senior center should be called the “HUG” center, as I am sure, you have no-
ticed, plenty of hugs and well wishes are given here. Lots of events are planned for the new year: Massage,
Wednesday meals, Foot Clinics, Alzheimer Caregivers meetings, Alzheimer Education meetings, Cribbage, 500,
Bingo, Strong Bones, Zumba and much more happen here each month.
2017 will be very busy. We hope we see you! Be happy, Be safe, Enjoy!

Description:
So much happened before Dorothy dropped in.
WICKED, the broadway sensation looks at what happened in the Land Of Oz… but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an ex-traordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde, who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships...until the world decides to
call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”
From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED-the untold true story of the Witches of Oz –transfixes audiences with its wildly
inventive story that USA Today cheers is “a complete triumph! An original musical that will make you laugh, cry and think.”
