hesitate in doing anything to get out. He said selfishness in
prison was.the best policy --that, after all, a manonly hasrone
life to live and no one wants to spend that life injail. He said
hell, Jackson or anybody would do anything to obtain their.
-liberty. He accused me of being brainwashed, confused and emo-
tional for thinking thatthey were out to kill me --that if that
was the case, they would haveneverchosen me and given me the
opportunity to get out free. He said hehad to go through a lot
of troublewith higher authorities, convincing them that I shouldA; . .Y. I

would never see the streets again and if I thought I have expe-

fer to either Chino, C.M.C.B.or Tehachipirightaway'andthen
I wouldgo to trial, testify and before Christmas, I'llbehome.
He said, incase I feared Jackson;might wantto hurt mewhenhe

withmoney and high recommendations. He said I'mnot theonly
one to beoffered good things, that thereare others. He went on
for alittle whilealong the same lines. After he had finished,
I told him I didn'tneed his kind of freedom, I wasn'tgoingto
testify and lie against anybody and to never confront me with
absurdities like that again. He said I spoke that way because I
was sure to beat the present case I was fighting in Sacramento,

"Blood inMy Eye"By George L. Jackson
REVIEWBOOK
This book, which isGeorge LesterJacksonh lastwilland testament, presents hisburning visionthat theworld hastobereshaped,is dedicatedto theblack communistyouth, andopenlyadvocatesanend to capitalisminthe United Statesby armedrevolution and-violence.The publisherreportedly receivedthismanuscript lessthanaweekbefore Jackson waskilled attemptingtoescapefrom San Quentin. The authoradmits heis acommunist,an
extremist, andclaims revolutionaryacts carefullyplannedbyblackscanoverthrow our existingsociety. Herecommends educatingblackswith theidea ofpromoting therevolution, ofinfiltrating policedepartments, themilitary, prison staffs, Governmentalagencies, and otherselective placeswhich caneventually provideassistanceto their cause. Emphasisis placedonforming amobile secretblack guerrillaarmy,on the practicaluseof ambush attacks, onperfect disordercreated byanumberof disruptions andotherinternal problemsand thealways healthyspontaneous masslooting. He claimssurprise attacksand quickwithdrawal cancreate completechaos andbring aboutthe completerevolution. Theonly formofattack employedby guerrillaforcesisthe ambush, thesurpriseattack, andthere mustneverbe anyfront linesordefendingofterritory.Thesevarious planned violentattacks shouldstarttaking placein theheartof cities withthe objectivetochange"law andorder toperfect disorder"and replacethe established
culture witha blackrevolutionaryone. The author indicatestheplansto foment thisrevolution, toseektriumph overbourgeoiscapitalism willbe ledby theBPP andother trainedurban guerrillaunits. He emphasizes theurban guerrillacan minglewith theenemyand remain invisibleand invulnerableand thattotalrevolution isthe only solution.
