DECONSTRUCTIONS
The four Deconstructions I have choses are from four different decades; I Deconstructed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Mary Poppins (1964), Jumanji (1995) and Freaky Friday (1976).
I was looking at the four main technical codes and seeing how the genre fantasy was portrayed in the first two minuets.

WHAT DO THE OPENING TWO MINUTES OF YOUR FILM DECONSTRUCTIONS HAVE IN COMMON?
All four films all create a sense of showing the audience what the main characters are like - characterisation
The main character is being chases by a group of small boys.
Messy teenager
Harry, hiding from his uncle Lively street performer

WHAT IS GENERALLY ESTABLISHED IN THE FIRST TWO MINUTES?
In all four films it was made apparent that I was watching a fantasy movie apart from Freaky Friday where it was showing no obvious signs of fantasy. Harry Potter almost immediately displayed Harry using a wand, this was a clear sign I was watching a fantasy movie. Jamanji showed a time change and had werewolf's howling in the background which are commonly known as a typical mystical creature. Mary Poppins had an establishing shot of Mary flying through the clouds with an umbrella.

CAN YOU DETECT ANY SIMILARITIES IN THE USE OF THE FOUR TECHNICAL CODES?
All four deconstructions has many similarities concerning the four technical codes, which were:
Sound - Creating tension - Characterisation- Setting the scene/ naturalistic
sounds- Voice over (Freaky Friday)
Camera Work
- Establishing shots - Tilt shot - Ariel shot - Shot length/ close ups- Birds eye view
Mise-en- scene- Setting, outside or in a
house. - Props E.g Instruments, chests- Dark Clothing (Jumanji)
Editing- Match on action- Mix of no continuity and continuity editing- ‘wipe’ in and out with writing on the screen.
