• Chinese Premier in 2001 & 2013 stated: “rehabilitation is an area for focused development for China”
• Chinese State Council targets for healthcare reform
• By 2015, all disabled persons should have access to rehabilitation services, and that the development of rehabilitation should pursue a direction which allows rehabilitation services to be accessed by all
• 83 million disabled – 50 million need rehab (2011 survey), all ages groups
• 144 million over the age of 60 – 70% needs rehab (2011 survey)

China’s Current Health Care Challenges
• The 60+ population is 200 million and will grow to 500 million by 2050.
• 200 million with Hypertension
• 100 million with Diabetes
• 50 million with Respiratory disorders
• Chronic disease accounts for 70% of the healthcare costs.
• Most at risk patients do not get rehabilitation to prevent falls, and patients who received acute care do not get adequate rehabilitation for a full recovery.
• The industrialization in China has resulted in many workplace injuries without sufficient prevention or rehabilitation care.

• Patients could also receive treatment in other OPT clinics in their community, use hospital experience with GRS-HS as referral basis
