EVM in MS Project
• Steps to view Earned Value in MS Project– Set Baseline– Set Status Date– Preconfigured Tables – Generate Earned Value Over Time Report
5
Assuming all work packages, resources, and resource usage has been input into MS Project
![Page 6: EVM in MS Project](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061204/547f171eb4af9f80678b4589/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Set Baseline
• MS Project uses the Baseline as the basis for the Planned Value (PV) calculation
• In the Project View, Set a Baseline for the project.
6
![Page 7: EVM in MS Project](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061204/547f171eb4af9f80678b4589/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)

Set Status Date
• A snapshot in time of current project performance.• In MS Project, set the status date to the desired date to
review project progress.
8
Due to nature of Earned Value Calculation, the status date will affect displayed data

Preconfigured Tables
• MS Project has 3 preconfigured views for reviewing Earned Value in table format.– Earned Value
• PV (BCWS), EV (BCWP), AC (ACWP), SV, CV, EAC, BAC, VAC
– Earned Value Cost Indicators• CV%, CPI, TCIP
– Earned Value Schedule Indicators • SV%, SPI
9
Each individual table can be further customized.
