In this unit the student will analyze food to determine if it is healthy. TheStudents took a community trip to the store and from a premade list of food, they collaborated on and shopped for 16 different foods. We had already in a previous unit talked about how to research sites on the internet to find out the calories, sugars, carbohydrates, and fiber in foods.
The prerequites for this unit includeThe Students: •Pre knowledge of healthy foods versus junk food.•An understanding of the food pyramid.•How to fill out a chart and make a graph.•How to research for information on the internet.
The materials needed are :

After all the foods have been put on the chart the students collaborate with each other to decide which foods are good,bad or ugly.
The next step is for the student’s to decide whichform they want to do their final project for this unit.They can choose power-point, brochure, newsletter etc.
Then they will cooperate with each other with each other anddesign their project.
After the project is finished, the students will present itto teachers and peers. Teachers will assess the project by asking questions and taking notes.
The students will then fill out a self reflection paperto assess themselves.
