Disaster can happen without warning. It is always good to be prepared for the worst. Je�ers wants to make sure that both you and your horse are safe. We have compiled a list of items that are helpful in case of evacuation or general disaster.

EQUINE EMERGENCY KIT

Medical Info andID Neck StrapsKeep medical information on hand at all times.Information should be kept in a waterproofcontainer for safe keeping. ID Neck Strap are asimple and easy way to identify horses.

Marking Sticks orMarking SprayMarking Sticks are also useful for identifyinghorses. For best results, choose a marking stickthat is both water- and weather-resistant.

Rope Halters Rope Halters are a quick and easy option forcontrolling your horse. Additionally, rope haltersare durable and easily adjusted to most sizes.

First Aid KitBasic First Aid kits for Horses can be purchasedpre-packaged. If building your own, a basic kitshould include bandages, gauze, tweezers, scissors,antiseptic ointment and gloves.

VetericynAn OTC spray that manages wounds, skin abrasions,lacerations, minor irritations, cuts and more. Vetericyn is a non-toxic product that is safe for all animals!

Vet WrapVet Wrap is an easy tear, self-adhesive bandage great forprotecting wounds from further damage. Vet Wrap alsoacts as an immobilizer for splints and casts.

GauzeGauze is necessary for cleaning, dressing and packingwounds. Non-stick gauze makes removing andreplacing bandages less painful for the horse.Depending on the severity of a wound, gauze shouldbe replaced between 2 to 4 times daily.

TreatsKeeping your horse’s favorite treats handy can helpease anxiety in stressful situations.

FlashlightA �ashlights provides a light source incase of power outages. Don’t forget extra batteries!

BlanketsA waterproof blanket will help protect your horse from the elements by providing warmth in colder areas while alsoprotecting from the rain. If you are in a warmer climate,a waterproof sheet would be a better choice.
