Mission Statement: Our community’s highest priority is to protect and buffer our cit-izens and physical resources from natural and man made hazards and to restore environmentally degraded areas to full ecological and human productivity.

Goals and Princlples
Planning Goals Chosen by Community Residents1. Environmental Protection
2. Human Productivity Protection3. Restore Damaged Areas
4. Resource Protection5. Centralized Development for Residents
Location Principles:1. To preserve space for environmental protection, buffers will be increased as well as
densities to accomodate expected growth.2. Prohibit dense development on steep hills to preserve sewer system.
3. Designate location, on greater slope, as a “safety zone” for potential flood hazards.4. No development on steep slopes.
5. Prevent future growth/relocate from flood plains.6. Develop a man-made flood plain to drain area - to the East.

Perferred Alternative Summary Identify elements that need to be protected: poor soils, streams, flood plains, lakes, watershed, drainage, and reservoir. The next step is to prevent further development in these critical areas. After these critical areas have been identified, it is paramount to determine the areas that will safely allow development. Development will be allowed outside of the designated Urban Growth Area. This measure will allow future develop-ment without interfering with the preservation of critical areas.
