Denver Energy Day is an annual free, family-friendly
festival - 2017 is the Inaugural Denver Energy Day
Celebrates and highlights energy, science, technology,
engineering, mathematics (STEM), and careers
Hands-on demonstrations engage students and families
in STEM and energy lessons
Music, food, contests, and fun activities for all ages
Free and open to the public

attendance of 25,000+ in October 2016

As part of Energy Day’s educational mission, we will partner
with several Denver-area academic groups to host the year-
round Energy Day Academic Program (EDAP).
• Colorado High School Science Bowl
• Colorado Science and Engineering Fair
• NREL Model Car Competitions
EDAP consists of a series of unique, citywide, energy and
STEM-related competitions aimed to motivate, challenge, and
inspire K-12 students to seek careers in science and
technology.
EDAP provides awards and recognition to students and
teachers as part of its mission to engage students in energy
and STEM education.
Since 2011, EDAP Houston has provided nearly $90,000 in
financial awards to over 515 K-12 students and teachers

A survey of students who attended Energy Day 2016
reported that after attending the festival:
o 94% of the students find STEM subjects more interesting
o 81% of the students have a better understanding of STEM/Energy Industry jobs
o More than half of the students reported an increased understanding of the Energy Industry and an interest in pursuing a career in the industry
Outreach to thousands of students, teachers, and parents,
including Houston ISD, Alief ISD, Fort Bend ISD,
Pasadena ISD, Spring Branch ISD, Katy ISD, Clear Creek
ISD, and Deer Park ISD.
