Encapsulator BIOTECHYour Successful Start in Bio-Encapsulation

Key Features Sterile Working Conditions in an autoclavable reaction

vessel. High Cell Viability due to low shear stress during bead formation. Reproducible Bead Formation in the range of 0.15 mm to 2.0 mm. Excellent Bead Size Uniformity due

to the integrated Electrostatic Dispersion Unit (EDU).

Immediate Process Control and optimization of the bead production process by monitoring the bead production in the light of an integrated stroboscopic lamp.

User Friendly: The operation of the Encapsulator is learned easily and quickly. Parameter setting is on touch screens. Cleaning is simple.

Batch Size of 5 ml to 200 ml with a dead volume of approx. 0.5 ml. Set of 8 Single Nozzles covers the

bead size range of 0.15 mmto 2.0 mm with nozzle sizes of 0.08, 0.12, 0.15, 0.20, 0.30, 0.45, 0.75 and 1.0 mm.

Delivery of the polymer mixture is by the integrated syringe pump or by air pressure with flow rates from 70 ml/h (0.08 mm nozzle) to 2’500ml/h (1.0 mm nozzle).

Optional: - Concentric Nozzle Kit for one step capsule production.- Second integrated syringe pump. - Automated Air Pressure Control

The Encapsulator BIOTECH from EncapBioSystems is the updated version of the Inotech EncapsulatorIE-50R. The Encapsulator BIOTECH offers you easy access to the technique of bio-encapsulation under sterile working conditions. The method of uniform bead production is based on the proven principle that a laminar liquid jet is broken into equal beads, when vibration at the appropriate frequency is applied to the liquid jet. The vibration frequency determines the quantity of beads produced: at a vibration frequency of e.g. 700 Hz, you will produce 700 beads per second.

ApplicationsImmobilization of animal and plant cells, micro-organisms, enzymes, drugs, flavors & fragrances, dyes etc. A wide range of hydrogel polymers are compatible with the Encapsulator BIOTECH such as alginate, carrageen, cellulose sulphate, chitosan, gelatine and pectin, as well as waxes. The reaction vessel allows controlled sterile working conditions on the bench.
