Hands-on training focusing on freely available tools you can use right away, to help your library or information service communicate more effectively.

There is an increasingly bewildering array of online communications tools available to organisations. This workshop focuses on exploring those which are a) free to use, b) effective and c) relevant to library audiences. Ned’s training is designed to give people ideas and platforms they can use the minute they get back to their desks; participants will leave brimming with possibilities to improve and increase the impact of their digital comms.

One Day Workshop 2015

Methodology:This is fully interactive and hands-on, with a mixture of discussion, sharing ideas and playing with online tools. All presentation materials will be shared with participants to help them cascade the knowledge gained throughout their organisations.

Participants will need to bring a Lap Top to this workshop (Tablet will not be suitable for this workshop)

Program timetable:Registration and coffee: 8:45 to 9:00program commences: 9:00Morning tea: 10:30 to 10:45Lunch: 12:30 to 1:30Afternoon tea: 3:00 to 3:15Program finish: 5:00Breaks and lunch are fully provided.

About the presenter:Ned Potter is an Academic Liaison Librarian at the University of York, and a Trainer for various organisations in the UK including the British Library and the Bodleian Libraries at Oxford University, LIASA in South Africa, and PiCS in Australasia.

His book The Library Marketing Toolkit was published by Facet in 2012. Ned can be found online at ned-potter.com and on Twitter at @ned_potter.
