Award Description: The Emara's Student Toxicological Award
Fund will be established with an gift from Dr. Ashraf Mahmoud
Emara, Professor of Clinical Toxicology, Faculty of medicine,
Tanta university, Egypt, to encourage Fourth year medical
students to expand their knowledge about toxicology and attract
them to study it hardly. Criteria for award: Egyptian student (having been born in Tanta,
Egypt).
Dates:
Dead line for registration: 1/1/2012.
Deadline for receipt the work: 10-3-2012.
Cerebration date: 21/3/2012.
Items needed for application:
1. Egyptian video for any items of treatment of poisoned
patients.
2. List and physical characters of pesticides used in Egypt.
3. Diagnosis and treatment of the following case.
A 61-year-old man presents to the Tanta Poison center complaining of a swollen tongue, drooling, and shortness of breath. He hasn't fever or chills. Past medical history is significant for diabetes, osteoarthritis, and hypertension. Medications since one week, include glipizide and metformin for diabetes and quinapril for hypertension. For the past 4 weeks, the patient has been taking an over-the-counter herbal weight loss supplement containing green tea. The patient also takes aspirin daily. Value of award: Five student will be selected blindly from those
have correct answer or best videos (Two hundred Egyptian
pounds for each student).
