What is Hispanic Heritage Month?
Hispanic Heritage Month is during the time September 15 to October 15 in the United States when Hispanic and Latino Americans are recognized for their contributions to the United States. It is also a time when the Latin Heritage is celebrated. Expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988, the day September 15 was chosen due to the fact that it is the anniversary of independence of the Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
