Mission Statement
SAGE Fou datio s ke areas of focus are education, healthcare
feeding of the marginalized
children, social empowerment,
environment, and promoting
Unity in Diversity.
Message from the Chair
Maya Shahani
Founder and Chairperson
The Shahani Trust has been funding the
philanthropic activities of the Shahani Group,
through family funds since the last sixty years.
Looking at the positive outcomes and to magnify
the scope of its activities, the Trust created the
SAGE Foundation which accepts donations and
has the 80G and FCRA clearance. One hundred
percent of the donations received by SAGE goes to
the worthy causes it is meant for. The
administrative costs of running SAGE are borne by
the Shahani Group.
SAGE Foundation aligns with organizations which
are doing good work and through its intervention,
enhances their scope. Most of the funds go
directly from the donors to these charities, which
explains why SAGE has a small corpus.Buy1Give1
is one of the major donors for SAGE and the other
worthy causes adopted by it.
We are now celebrating the 10th year of SAGE
Fou datio s e iste e. For us, our greatest gift is
the happy smiles and hugs we receive from our
children.
Message from the Managing Director
We have created SAGE Foundation as the CSR Arm
of the Shahani Group of Educational Institutes. We
encourage our students to volunteer and mentor
towards all activities undertaken by SAGE, as our intent
is to create ethical, heart centric global corporate
leaders who learn to give back to society. Very few
educational institutes have in house foundations like
the ones we have created.
We also believe in equity in education. So we provide
scholarships, through SAGE Foundation and our own
family trust, the Thadomal Shahani Trust, to meritorious
marginalized students. They are trained for
employability through our experiential, responsive
learning systems which teaches them crucial soft skills,
team spirit, critical thinking, undertaking of live projects
and other skills required by industry.
Very low income students, living in slums are given the
same education as the elite, and get jobs in
multinational companies which secures them for a
lifetime of financial freedom.

EDUCATION
Edu atio is the most powerful weapon
you can use to change the world. - Nelson Mandela
Through interventions in educational patterns in
existing Educational Institutes right across the
socio-economic board, SAGE Foundation as the
CSR arm of the Thadomal Shahani Educational
Institutes, endeavors to create a unique model
that addresses equity and excellence in
education.
This model is replicable across the globe as its
dynamism rests in quality, efficacy and
adaptability of the programmes.
We will build bridges and encourage
understanding and communication that will
prove to be key connectors in the evolving global
economy. These will be the basic building blocks
on which academic institutes will be built.
We bring equity in education through heartwarming
stories like these:

FUTURE PLANS
Skills Training
Sage Foundation is working towards imparting skills training to the under resourced

system for educating and empowering these families.
To achieve this objective, SAGE is in touch with ISKCON and SAMPARC Foundation

ancient heritage is preserved in the villages. With rural migration and changing cultural
