3. Conduit Sizes All sizes are expressed to two decimal places (e.g. 1.25,
2.00, .50 etc.)4. Wire Types
All standard designations are used (e.g. NMD7, BX, TECK3,
TECK4, XL, THHN, RWU, BARECU, etc.) Aluminumconductors are the same with "A" added (e.g. NMD7A,
XLA, etc. - except ACWU which is available in aluminumconductor only)
5. Wire Size All wire sizes are expressed in normal numbers (e.g. 12, 500,
1/0, etc.) multi conductor cables are expressed with the wire
size, then a slash (/) and then the quantity of conductors(e.g. 12/2, 18/10, 250/4, 1/0/4 [=4c #1/0])

13.Cross References Are used when more than one term is used for a material
(e.g. RGS and RIGID). A separate material has been set up
for the second and/or third name with the description "seeRIGID" and the size "SAMPLE". If further cross references
are needed, use the same method (#51).

There are two main types of assemblies in the data file. The firstseries is the conduit and wire. Each one is complete with conduit,
wire, couplings, connectors (at a ratio of two per one hundred feetfor feeders and 6 per one hundred feet for branch circuit) straps,
and a fastening allowance. Bends, special fittings, additionalconnectors, etc. are not included. The labour rates have beenadjusted for slab or surface conduits. For exceedingly difficult or
exceedingly easy installations, use the labour difficulty optionwhen entering (by pressing "F3" just before the quantity is entered)
and add the relevant factor as a percentage adjustment. All
combinations are included up to twelve conductor on sizes 14, 12and 10, and three and four wire for feeders up to 500mcm. In all
Scepter or non metallic (ENT) conduits, a ground wire isautomatically added. Conduits are sized according to the electrical
code. A typical code would be "212XEE". This is explained asfollows:2 # of conductors
12 Wire sizeX type of insulation ("X"=XL, "T"=TWH, "A"=XLA, "E"-
empty)E type of conduit ("E"=EMT, "R"=Rigid, "S"=Scepter,
"N"=ENT)E type of installation ("E"=exposed, "S"-slab)
The second main assembly type is the "outlet" units. These are setup for typical commercial installation and include most outlets thatwould be found that can be "averaged". These must be used very
carefully as the average length of wire for each is included. If theruns are exceedingly short or unusually long, add a separate line in
the estimate with a plus or minus quantity of the relevantconductor. The base codes used are:1. Devices
receptacle REC single circuit RECSC
isolated ground RECIG floor RECF split cct recept RECSP
20a receptacle REC20A switch SW

There are various other miscellaneous codes added for particular
purposes. Check the contents of each one carefully and make surethe application suits the condition. Be aware of the contents ofeach. Some of the more useful ones are:
