About Ms. Robinson• This is my third year teaching. I
taught gifted 1st grade in Henry county 1st two years.
• I graduated from UGA in 2014 with my major in early child education
• I am dual certified • I will be 24 next month. • I live in Stockbridge with my mom
and sister. I am the oldest of 3. • Favorites: Elephants, turtles,
cheesecake, green and to dance!
About Ms. Quartermaine • I am a mommy to a beautiful little five year old
girl named Skylar McKenzie.• I am engaged to the love of my life and will be
married on May 6th 2017.• I have a bachelors degree majoring in early
childhood education. I am working towards being a certified teacher.
• I am the youngest of four children, I have 2 sisters and one brother.
Goals• Goals for this school year is to keep in
constant communication with all parents• Get your student ready for 1st grade• Have a fun time learning new things!!
Class schedule• Arrival (Breakfast) 7:45-8:20
• Circle time, Calendar, Math/Math Centers 8:20-9:30• Writer’s Workshop 9:30-9:50
• Literacy block (whole group, shared reading, read aloud, phonics, working with words) 9:50-10:20
• Snack (snack everyday)10:20-10:35• Specials (operate on days) 10:50-11:35• Continue with literacy block 11:35-12:05
• IEP Time (Focus Skills) 12:15-12:40• Lunch 12:40-1:10• Recess 1:20-1:40
• Science/Social Studies 1:40-2:30• Dismissal 2:30
Language Arts (1st 9 weeks)
• Combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event
• Recognize common types of texts• Name the author and illustrator of
a story• Ask and answer questions about
key details in a text• identify the main topic (main idea)
and retell key details of a text
Social Studies (1st 9 weeks)
• Month of August (first part of September): Where we live
• Month of September: Observing Labor day
Math (1st 9 weeks)• Know number names
and the count sequence• Count to tell the number
of objects• Identify coins and bills • Classify objects and
count the numbers of objects in each category
Science (1st 9 weeks)• Characteristics of

Homework• Monthly Calendar, Sight word tic tac toe
board, Monthly reading log• Homework is great practice at home but
not mandatory!

Conferences (Early Release Days- 9/28 &9/29)
o Late Arrivals If a student is going to arrive after 8:15am, parents
must come in with the student and sign them in at the lobby desk. The student will be issued a tardy pass to give to their teacher. oEarly Release:
Dismissal begins at 11:50. Remind parents that all transportation changes must be made in writing. Students can only be checked out through the office and before 11:30. o Office staff will call for students that are checking out,
students are never released from the classroom. if someone other than themselves is checking child out, that person’s name must be listed on the green card in the office and ID shown.
o Students are not allowed to be dropped off in the mornings before 7:45a.m. unless they are here for a special program.
