Thisdomesticdrivewayhadbeenlaidwithgravelpreviously,butovertimethegravelhadmigratedintotheground,leavingtheareaunevenandduringthewinterwetandmuddy.
Thedrivehadtotakeoccasionallorrytrafficandwasuseddailybydomesticvehiclesforaccessandparking.
TorelaythedrivewithDuPont™GroundGrid,thegroundwaspreparedfirstbyremovingapproximately65mmwithamechanical
digger.
Thegridoncelaidwouldbuttuptoexistingedgings.
Oncethetophadbeenremoved,thesurfacewasevenedup,removinganylargestoneswhichwereleft.
Awackerplatewasthenusedtocompactthearea,whichhavingbeenusedasadrivewaybefore,didnotneedtobestrenghtenedbeforelayingthegrid.

TwoDuPont™GroundGridswerelaidsidebyside,withtemporarypeggingtoholdthegridatoneendforittobeextended.
Theopenedgeswerethenstapledtogether,everycell,whichcreatedafullcellonthejoin.
Aggregatewasplacedbyhandintotheendsoftheextendedcelltoholditinplace,andthetemporarypegswerethenremoved.
Atimberboardwasplacedononegrid,toensurethatitwasinfullcontactwiththegroundbeforetheaggregatefillwasapplied.
Asthegridswerefilled,thenextgridwaslaidandstapled.
Oncethewholeareahadbeencompleted,asurchargeoftheaggregatewasapplied,completelycoveringthegridtoalevelofapproximately
Theaggregatewaspouredontothegridmanually,usingawheel-barrow,then
rakedintofillthecells.Thetimberboardwasmovedforwardonthegridtocontinuethefillofthecompletegrid.
Onethegridcellshadbeenfilledtothetop,thesurfacewasstableenoughtowalkontofilltherestofthegrid,movingforward.
