BEGAN..
Were did it start ? • Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles was founded in 2006 and registered in 2007 by Liezel Roets, mo@vated by
three main goals; • 1. Offering affordable interna@onal branded scrapbooking products to the South African
Market. • 2. Supplying brands and new products that were not yet available in South Africa. • 3. Becoming the first Scrapbooking/CraP online e-‐commerce store in SA with the goal of
brick & mortar stores later on. • Star@ng out as a small online e-‐commerce merchant of scrapbooking and related products.
Working out from home, then a garage, then mul@ple homes, some small retail walk-‐in stores, another few garages, loads of exhibi@ons up un@l 2010 when Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles opened the Superstore in Irene, Pretoria.
As the only employee • Loving a challenge, I enjoyed it, ordering new inventory, crea@ng it on the website, client emails,
receiving orders, telephone enquiries, packing & picking of the orders and taking the orders to the post office, emailing the tracking numbers was fun un@l 2008 when things started geZng too much for one person. Then my sister Jani Pretorius was friendly obligated to assist me. Sharing the vision she is s@ll with the company (even though we can defer as twins) she is a big value to Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles. Nic Klopper Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles previous CFO from 2010 – 2014 has contributed a lot during his @me with the company.
Milestones • The domain www.scrap-‐a-‐doodles.co.za has since grown to be one of the most popular online scrapbooking sites in South Africa and neighboring countries. Our online store currently carries 22,771 scrapbooking products and is growing daily. • The Irene superstore has been a huge success for the company and was the second milestone for this growing brand. Currently we proudly have franchises situated in Secunda Trichardt, Lydenburg and Sandton, Paulshof, Johannesburg.

Something borrowed…something blue • In 2012 Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles started a new division specializing in Wedding favors, sta@onery which incorporates well with the Scrapbooking and craP industry but also opens a lot of new opportuni@es.

store opening in 2010 took a lot of hard work, commitment, endurance, crucial decisions and challenges. Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles was established during the SA recession and we managed to pull through and outgrow established compe@tors even as a start up company
• What has made Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles successful today is the fact that we have started from the
bodom, went through all the growing pains, learned from first hand experience and this puts us in an advantaged posi@on. We are geared for any future challenges that we may come across. We are used to the market, we know how to evolve and grow with the industry as well as how to keep up and adapt with an ever changing hobby.
Employees • We have grown to a big employee family of different cultures. Being blessed by 8 years of
con@nual growth and change, we have and will always strive to maintain a family atmosphere among our employees. It is the daily hard work, passion and commitment of about 45-‐50 employees that enable us to ship hundreds of orders a day and offer an unforgedable experience for clients visi@ng any Scrap-‐a-‐Doodles store.
