Founded in 1980s by John Kuo Wei “Jack” Tchen and Charles Lai
First established on 2nd floor of 70 Mulberry St.
Relocated in 2009 to 215 Centre St.
Purpose
To preserve and present the history, heritage, culture, and diverse experiences of people of
Chinese descent in the United States
To promote dialogue and understanding among
people of all cultural backgrounds
