The theme for the 6th
Inter House Board Deco Competition
on 2 January 2016 was ‘Outer Space’ and the students of
Classes III-V exhibited their artistic skills to make their
house win the title. The Winner of this competition is Vayu
House followed by Agni and Jivam Houses in the First and
Second runners-up position.

An experiential learning trip to the
Traffic Park on 5 January 2016
enabled the tiny tots of Nursery to
be aware of traffic rules and signals.
They were thrilled with the first
hand experience of obeying traffic
rules by using the fabricated
pedestrian pathways, signboards,
traffic lights and foot bridge.

Astro camp
Astronomy camp was conducted by Mr. G.R.
Sivakumar, the DPS Educational Advisor, on 9-
10 January 2016 for students of Classes VIII-X
and on 6 February 2016 for Classes VI-VII. The
students viewed constellations, planets and
nebulae through the school telescopes.
Away from the hustle
and bustle of city life,
the students of Class III
went on an experiential
learning trip to Teethal
on 9 January 2016.
They also visited the
Swaminarayan and Sai
Baba temples to get
acquainted with their
beliefs and practices.
The students of Class VI
B presented a special
assembly on Indian
Army Day on 12
January 2016 to salute
the valiant soldiers who
sacrificed their lives to
protect India and its
people.

Republic Day of India was celebrated with great pride at the DPS Tapi playground on 26
January 2016. It began by a smart parade and flag hoisting, followed by a patriotic song and dance. The

On 16 January 2016, the
students of Class IV went to
Swaraj Ashram and Vyara
Garden on an experiential
learning trip. They gathered
information on the Swaraj
Satyagraha at the ashram.
Republic Day
The sixth Annual Sports Meet Adventure Challenge was celebrated on 29-30 January 2016 with great
zeal and hundred percent participation. Students showcased adventure sports like rock-climbing,
paragliding, kayaking and rope climbing. There were spectacular displays of Mass PT, Aerobics, Yoga,
Gymnastics and Karate as well as races with fantastic props in the adventure theme that challenged the
participants' physical endurance, agility and motor coordination.
India of My Dreams Girl Child Day
The students of Classes III-X participated in
a nationwide Expression Series on Mere
Sapno ka Bharat (India of My
Dreams)conducted by the HRDC Ministry
on 26 January 2016 in various categories–
Slogan Writing, Essay Writing, Poetry
Writing, Poster, Painting and the best entries
were sent to CBSE.
The students of Class VII A
presented a special assembly on
National Girl Child Day on 28
January 2016to make all of us aware
of the prejudice and inequality that
confronts a girl child in India.
Annual Sports Day 2015-16
Khushi Shah (VIII A) and Joy Shah (II B) secured First Place and Third
Place in the U-16 and U-11 Khel Mahakumbh Taluka Level Chess
Championship, respectively on 23 January 2016. Further, on 29-30 January
2016, in the Khel Mahakumbh District Level Championship, Khushi Shah
and Joy Shah secured First Place and Third Place respectively,in the U-16 and
U-11 Category.
Abhyas Narula (IX A) secured Second place in the 1000 metre and the Third
place in the 500 metre U-16 Khel Mahakumbh Skating Championship.
Pratishtha Narula (III B) secured Second place in the 500 metre U-13
Category on 29 January 2016.
Pirah Devani (IV B) and Shaurya Devani (II B) secured First and Third place
respectively in the U-16 and U-13 Khel Mahakumbh District Level
Taekwondo Championship on 1-2 February 2016. Pirah Devani, further
secured the Second place in the same category at the State Level on 14
February 2016.
Hiya Patel of Class I B secured Third place in the U-11 Khel Mahakumbh
Swimming Championship on 3 February 2016.
In Khel Mahakumbh Rural Table Tennis Championship, Krish Shah (VII A)
and Tanya Purohit (VI A) secured the Champions Trophy of the U-13 Boys
and Girls categories respectively and Sachi Shah (VIII A) won the U-16 Girls
Trophy on 3-4 February 2016. Muskan Mehta (V A) won Second place and
Sanskriti (VIII A) won Third place in the U-13 and U-16 Girls categories
respectively.

Khel Mahakumbh Taluka Level Boys
Athletics Championship on 5 February
2016. The results are:
Jugal Bhatt (IX A) secured Second place in the 200 metre Khel Mahakumbh
District Level Championship.
Congratulations to the budding sport stars of DPST for such an outstanding
performance in the Khel Mahakumbh Rural Championships!

Good Luck Party
A Good Luck Party was thrown on
13 February 2016 for the Class X
students appearing the CBSE Final
Exam. The Miss and Master DPST
at this festive occasion were Nishtha
Agarwal and Yojit Bhasin.
A Visit to Sayan Sugar Factory
The students of Class V visited the
Sayan Sugar Factory at Olpad on
13 February 2016 to observe the
entire process of sugar production
– from harvested sugarcane
brought to the factory to the
packaged sugar. It was an

Suman Nursery Bird Saviours
During Uttarayan 2016,
Aryan Khandelwal, Aditya
Khandelwal, Paulomi
Prajapati and Dhruvi Shah
of DPS Tapi saved birds
from the deadly manja with
help from the SPCA Bird’s
Hospital at Pal. The SAB
TV recognised this act of
kindness with a special
telecast on 2 March 2016,
where these students were
awarded with Baal Veer
Belts.
Class II visited Suman
Nursery Botanical Garden on
18th February 2016 to study
how a nursery functions and
plants are maintained on a
regular basis.

Exhibition
Mera Gaon Mera Desh was the Summer
Fun Camp for students of Pre-Nursery to
Class II from 14 to 18 March 2016. The
camp was a Learning Partnership initiative
teaching students about art, craft, music,
dance, games, food and drinks from rural
India.
