Gaudete Sunday ‘Bambinelli’ Sunday
December 15
St. Ambrose Parish will again celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent with more
than a rose candle this year. On this day, we will again adopt the Vatican
Tradition of blessing the figures of the baby Jesus (“Bambinelli” in Italian) from our Nativity scenes.
The tradition was started by Pope Paul VI in 1969 and ever since, the ‘Bambinelli’ blessing has been given by the pope during the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square on the Third Sunday of Advent. We ask every household in our parish, young and old, to unpack your creche and
bring the baby Jesus from your family’s Nativity scene to church to be blessed at the
11:15 Mass on December 15, 2019, the Third Sunday of Advent.

Mass Intentions and
Mary’s Hanging Lamp
If you are interested in scheduling a Mass Intention or placing a Hanging Lamp Intention for a loved one at St. Ambrose,
please call the Rectory.
The St. Ambrose
Parish Giving Tree
The St. Ambrose Giving Tree is set-up in the Church
vestibule. As in years past, The Giving Tree is decorated
with gift tag ornaments which indicate the gifts needed.
If you are able to shop for the Giving Tree, please take an
ornament to purchase the gift needed and then return the
wrapped gift with the ornament gift tag taped to the
wrapping paper or gift bag. Wrapped and tagged gifts
may be placed in the Church vestibule and will be collected
before and after weekend Masses. The last collection will
be the weekend of December 21/22, so that the gifts can
be transported to St. John Baptist in Pawtucket.
Your one small act of kindness during
the Christmas season means more than you
know to someone in need.

Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 9, 2019
St. Ambrose Church 7:30 a.m.

A Thought & Prayer for The Immaculate Conception from the Coptic tradition:
“Hail Mary, the most beautiful dove, which carried the word of God for us;
we greet you with the Archangel Gabriel saying: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Hail, O Virgin, the glory of our race; you have borne Emmanuel for us.
We pray that you will remember us before the Lord Jesus Christ, that he will forgive
us our sins.”

Mustard Seed Diaper Drive One of our young parishioners, Alexa Hayden, a junior at Lincoln
High School had the opportunity to go on the Mustard Seed Communities mission trip to Jamaica in 2018. Alexa is working on her high school exhibition project which requires students to
host and plan an event that will make a positive impact on others. For her project, she is organizing a Diaper Drive to help
meet the needs of the mission community in Jamaica.
More information will follow in next week’s bulletin and a collection box will be set-up for the Diaper Drive.
For whatever was written previously was written for
our instruction, that by endurance and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant
you to think in harmony* with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus,
that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
