Volunteerism

Volunteers Wanted! Volunteers are very important to theYMCA and the community it serves. Volunteering not onlymakes the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA a better place, but italso gives you an opportunity to touch a life, to makenew friends, and to personally grow. • Happy Club Chaperone / Driver - Twice a month on weekends we take young adults 16 years and older with disabilities to activities out in the community (Braves game, bowling, movies & dinner, etc.).

• Gymnastics Assistants - Help instructors with children, set up and break down gymnastic equipment.

• Member Greeter - Greet members as they come to workout at the YMCA.

• Sports Coaches - Teaching basic skills for sports recreation programs for ages 3 to 18, such as baseball, soccer, basketball, and flag football.

• Sports Field Monitor - Assist with field lining, field monitor and office administration.

• Refugee Program - Assist with instruction in soccer and swimming to children ages 4-14, or help provide snacks for participants.

• Beep Baseball - Baseball for the seeing, the blind, and visually impaired. We need players who are sighted to be fielders, catchers, pitchers, as well as volunteers to help assist players on and off the field.

Community CPR & First Aid Classesages 12+: This course provides training inadult, child and infant CPR and first aid.Upon scoring 80% or better on the writ-ten exam and correctly performing all ofthe skills, participants will receive CPRand first aid certifications.Sundays, 10:00-3:00 pmMay 18 • July 20Fee: $55

Happy Club: A Metro Atlanta YMCA program - developed and maintained byvolunteers -- that provide young adultsages 16 and up with developmental disabilities the opportunity to furtherdevelop their social and communityskills. American Red Cross Blood Drive: Helpsave lives - one donation of blood savesas many as three lives. Wednesday, 3:00-8:00 pm July 2 • September 3 • November 5
