This is the world you live in
Death of the Password
![Page 2: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
It’s estimated that 640 Terabytes of data are transferred over the internet every minute!
![Page 3: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Along with the music and movies you stream, you also transfer pieces of sensitive information every time you go online
![Page 4: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Data you transfer over the internet probably looks something similar to this
![Page 5: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
And your most sensitive data most likely looks like this
![Page 6: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
All of it is protected by that one password you use on every website, and that other password you use to access your online banking.
![Page 7: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Look familiar?

There is little you, as an average user, can do about this
![Page 10: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Or this…
110 million consumers’ personal information, including credit card numbers, was stolen in 2013
![Page 11: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
But you can do your part, and it starts with your password
![Page 12: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
What can you do
![Page 13: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Install a password manager. A long random password is better than a short complex password
![Page 14: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Change your passwords often
![Page 15: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Check credit card activity often and always
![Page 16: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Passwords will do for now, but they will not do in the future. They are too easily cracked
![Page 17: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Our individual bodies will be the keys to our data in the future
![Page 18: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Finger print scanning technology is starting to become more and more common, but this is only the first step
![Page 19: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Within your lifetime you will use your own DNA as a password
![Page 20: Death of the password](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052505/554bbfcbb4c90594278b50c8/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Until then, keep in mind that everything you store online is vulnerable to theft
