Note from the Editor: Due to the length of Jim’s story I am unable to include it in the Bulletin. To have tried to precis it would have lost some its meaning and continuity and would not have done it justice. If any member wishes to receive the 14 page Word document of this story please let me know and I will email it to them. Apologies to Jim Clarke and I hope he understands my dilemma.

Saturday 15 March: saw the Autumn 2014 Hackers versus Hookers 18 hole challenge match at Sandringham Golf Course. 8 Hackers led by Ian and 8 Hookers led by Christine Nicholson played in perfect golfing conditions and with strong games from James, Julian, Darren and Graeme the Hackers won the day. Cathy Dixon had the Highest Individual Score for the day and James had the Highest Men’s Individual Score. James also took out the Men’s Long Drive honors and Ian won the men’s Nearest the Pin honors for the day. This Saturday (22 March at noon) is our Hackers Autumn BBQ at Dendy Park where President Pat will be presenting the annual trophies for the 2013 Hackers year. All Rotarians with or without wives friends etc are welcome to come and join in the occasion - it is always a good social day - speak to Ivan and come along. Report: Capt Ian Cole
Saturday 8 March: Our monogrammed polo shirts and caps arrived this week and 10 Hackers tried them out. Coming in late as he does Sven again won the Pregame Putting with the last shot in the competition. Julian was our Star of the day and won both Off the Stick and the Handicap trophies with the day’s best scores. James could easily have been the star of the day (3 pars and a birdie) and won both trophies but with a lot of encouragement from his group and adjacent ducks he unfortunately went into the water again and spoilt a good score. Graeme Wallace also went into the water. Arthur who recently put 3 into the water drove the green this week - he missed a Venus but got a very satisfying par. Max who we think is still trying to better Ron’s record high score went into the dam as well but he missed the water and somehow bounced out. Ian took out both the Nearest the Pin and the Long Drive honors. Hole of the day went to Ron. It was the last hole and with 2 big hits he was on the green and with one putt he got a very memorable Birdie. Report: Capt Ian Cole
