The Dairy Welfare Rotation is a week-long rotation offered twice during the academic year at OVC (February 8-12, 2021 and March 22-26, 2021). Participants from Canadian and American veterinary colleges are provided with learning opportunities specific to dairy cattle welfare.
• Small group size - maximum of 12 students per offering
• Travel stipends available for students external to OVC
• Practical hands-on experience in dairy welfare assessment based on the Animal Care module of proAction
• Communication practice with clients and colleagues about animal welfare - based on real cases from the field
• Discussion of key welfare topics important to the dairy industry
• Interested students should contact Dr. Lena Levison to discuss participating in the rotation
