Rough calculationRough calculationIndicative data for a rough dimensional calculation :
Hot water daily consumption: 50/70 liters at 45°C per person
Solar collectors surface (Italy): North = 1 – 1,1 m2 per personMiddle = 0,7 – 0,8 m2 per personSouth = 0,65 – 0,7 m2 per person
Thermal storage = 70–80 litri/m2
Example : 5 people family North Italy:
50 liters x 5 people = 250 liters per day of water at 45°CCollectors surface: from 4 to 5 m2
Storage tank : 4,5 x 75 = 340 liters

System fillingSystem filling
After the calculation of the needed fluid quantity, fill the system using an automatic pump
System cleaning (dirt, etc)Air vent (silentness, better
thermal exchange)Check and test of the hydraulic

Thermovector liquidThermovector liquidIt is absolutely necessary to use the liquid
supplied by Immergas
Example :
Solar system with 2 vacuum tubes collectors + 30 meters of copper pipes Ø18x1
Rough calculation :
Vacuum tubes collector = 1,06 liters (flat = 0,96 liters)Single circulation group = 0,275 liters (0,5 lt double circ. group)Pipes Ø 18 = 0,21 liters per linear meter300 lt storage tank lower coil = 6,5 liters
System total volume = 15,42 liters

Thermovector liquidThermovector liquid
The liquid circulating inside the solar system must contain a specific glycol liquid mixture in order to :
protect against freezing at low temperatures avoid the corrosion in case of “stagnation”
flat collectors CP2 vacuum tubes collectors
20 liters
Standard supplied glycol tanks
20 liters

Necessary checks of the systemNecessary checks of the system
Check the safety devices of the sanitary circuit (d.h.w. expansion vessel, safety valve) and the position of the other devices like probes, solar pump, etc
Check the solidity of the collectors support frames on the roof (wind danger) and assess installation limits (orientation, dimensions, weight) or local rules
Check if suitable materials and components have been used (NO : zinc coated pipes, hemp, plastic, tin soldering, etc.)
Check the position of the single system devices in order to allow the easy access in case of maintenance or repair
Evaluate the matters concerning the location, the dimensions and the weight of the water full storage tank according to the place/room where it is installed
Connect the safety valve to the drain
Avoid automatic devices for the system filling
