Short BIO BRIEF:
I did my Ph.D in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Before joining IIFT I
was a Consultant at the National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi.
Joined IIFT as an Assistant Professor in 2006. In 2015 I visited the University of Manchester, UK
as a Visiting Fellow and worked with Prof. Kunal Sen. I have a total experience of over 17 years
in teaching and research. I teach courses on Macroeconomics, Development Economics and a
little bit of Empirical Trade to Masters and PhD students. In terms of software and models I use
Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP), Computable General Equilibrium Model in GAMS,
econometric softwares like STATA, EViews, SPSS, AMOS etc. I was involved as a researcher in
around 20 projects sponsored by International organizations, Government of India and State-
level bodies. Published in Journals like Journal of Business Research (Elsevier), Market
Intelligence and Planning (Emerald), Journal of Political Marketing (Taylor and Francis), Journal
of Industrial Statistics, Journal of Asian Business Studies (Emerald) etc. I was a recipient of the
prestigious “Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development”, 2010 conferred by
Ministry of Finance, Government of Japan and Global Development Network (GDN). For my
doctoral studies I received the Junior and Senior Research Fellowship from the University Grants
Commission, Government of India.
