Testing strategy
Lithuania is among the most testing countries in the world
Decisions that allowed to overcome challenges
• Public and private laboratories
• All PCR tests are processed on national eHealth system
• All patients can access test results on their patient portal account
• Those patients who have been tested at mobile testing points are automatically notifiedof the test result via SMS, and in case of a positive test – by a doctor's call
• Centralized administration of tests results ensures continuous outpatient care ofpatients
• Test results are available within 24 hours
New testing strategy
High risk municipalities
• Testing of the staff of healthcare, social care and nursing institutions at least every 7 days.
• Patients treated in hospitals, as well as people cared for in nursing and social care facilities tested on a random basis (5-10% tested per week)
• Other staff whose work specifics are related to customer service, such as those working in pharmacies and shops, will be tested at random. Their registration will be done via the Corona Hotline.
Low risk municipalities
• Staff of healthcare, social care and nursing working directly with patients, will be examined on a randomized basis (5-10% tested per week)
• Patients treated in hospitals, as well as people cared for in nursing and social care facilities are expected to be tested if they experience symptoms of an acute respiratory infection.
• The list of high and low risk municipalities is revised weekly.
