I know many of us will be taking a week or two during the summer months to go away on vacation. But let’s make a commitment to God and to one an-other that when we are in town, no matter the circumstances, we will be in Connection Group and Worship this summer. Let’s don’t “Summer Slump”, let’s “Summer Jump!”. Listen to Gary Loudermilk, Denton Baptist Association, Corinth: Two friends spent their time discussing all the problems of the world and pro-posing their solutions. They knew if peo-ple in high places would take their ad-vice, everything would get better. Finally, one of the two proposed his most fundamental hypothesis for the world’s current situation. “Our problem is that people are ignorant and apa-thetic.” His friend quickly offered his critique of his companion’s statement. “Well, I sure am not smart enough to know if I agree with that or not, but I am certain that I really don’t care whether it is true or not.” Beginning June 3rd, we have a four-week look into the words God gave to the Jews through Malachi.
Summer Study...
We have a wonderful opportunity to reinforce our morning Connection Group discussions by attending this Sunday Evening Study by Beth Moore, “Living Beyond Yourself”, Exploring the
Fruit of the Spirit.
The study is open to the community and is for
both men and women.
Workbooks are avail-able for purchase but
are not required.
Come and bring a friend.
Sunday Evening Study begins June 10th:

April Salad Supper in the Country...
We appreciate Gerald Clark (Cynthia Hickey’s brother) opening up his home and grill-ing some delicious chicken for our April Connection Group
Get-Together.
We had a Salad Bar spread
that was as good as Zookini’s!
(Do you remember that short-
lived restaurant?)
We also had a great time swapping stories and had a marvelous sing-a-long led by
Gerald and his guitar.
The room was filled with four-part harmony praising and glorifying God. Now, who
wouldn’t love that?
We were privileged to have some visitors to our group that evening, including: Phyllis Ste-vens (Marc’s beautiful mother), Carol Wagner, and Don and Connie Cave. It was good to fellowship with Raymond and Sandra Pape, and we were glad our associate class mem-ber, Charlotte Cyphers could join us also!

May Mexican Fiesta...
We were so delighted to invite our next door neighbors (the Adult 3 Connection Group) to join us for a Mexican Fiesta on May 18th. We had a wonderful turn out, the Mexican Stack meal was fantastic and as Beth Luker put it, “I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard in all my life!” We had so much fun and learned so many interesting things about each other. We especially appreciate Mike and Brenda, and Thomas and Tisha for being tremendous
good sports in our Nacho Eating Contest! Remember, “the joy of the Lord is our strength”, so if you haven’t been attending Connection Group Sunday Class and our Connection Group Get-Togethers, you are missing out on a lot of JOY! So watch for the next one, bring some friends and come join us. We will strengthen one another in the Lord!
The Lake View High School student that we gathered baby supplies for, had a healthy baby boy. She was so very appreciative of all the help she received. Miriam Smith will keep us informed if
there are ways we can help her. She graduated from high school and plans to take CNA classes this summer so she can get a decent paying job to help her with raising her child as well as finding a place to live on her own and saving up to go to college. Pray as Miriam keeps in contact with her, sharing the love of God and the Gospel with her that the Holy Spirit will speak to her heart. Pray that if she hasn’t already made Jesus Christ her Savior that she will do so. Pray for that precious baby that he will come to know Christ when he reaches the age of understanding.
