The Professional Practice Course is the new flexible course that has replaced the Dimension in Health Care Course and the BSc (Hons) Mental health Studies, MSc Pain Management and MSc Health and Social Care awards.
The Professional Practice Course is flexible, practice-led, and responsive and aims to foster
excellence. This course will develop knowledgeable, critical thinking, proactive, professional
practitioners who are fit to meet the changing demands of modern healthcare provision in the
global arena.
The Professional Practice Course consists of a selection of modules that can be studied on their own or as part of an award. 13 Overall Student Workload and Balance of Assessment
Overall student workload consists of class contact hours, independent learning and assessment activity, with each credit taken equating to a total study time of around 10 hours. While actual contact hours may depend on the optional modules selected, the following information gives an indication of how much time students will need to allocate to different activities at each level of the course.
