COMPARATIVES AND
SUPERLATIVES
Short adjectives:
For comparatives we put the adjective and –er and then, we put than. For example: tall-taller than.
For superlatives we put the and the adjective with –est. For example: tall- the tallest.
But be careful!
When the adjective finishes in consonant + vocal + consonant, we repeat the last consonant. For example: big-bigger than-the biggest, thin-thinner than-the thinnest.
When the adjective finishes in y, we change the y for the i and then we put –er than or – est. For example: funny-funnier than- the funniest.

When the adjective has more than two syllables:
For comparatives we put more + adjective + than. For example: beautiful- more beautiful than.
For superlatives we put the + most + the adjective. For example: beautiful- the most beautiful.
