ENDURINGBIGIDEA:Withinthebasketartworld,itisnotsurprisingthat,today,welookbackwardsintimetotheaccomplishmentsoftheartists,sothatwecanstudywhatbasketmakingis.Wewanttohaveagreaterunderstandingofthoseculturesthathavebeenpartofthehistoryofthisartform.Thisprojectwilltransformtraditionalbasketryintoacontemporaryfineartandhelpstudentshaveagreaterunderstandingofbasketry.BIGIDEA:“Whatisabasket?”Throughthislesson,wewillseethetransformationoftraditionalbasketryintoacontemporaryfineart.Whatmakesabasketintoday’sworld?Whatareartistsmakingintheworldofbasketry?Rooted,Revived,Reinvented:BasketryinAmericaExhibitioninhelpingidentifywhatabasketis?ESSENTIALQUESTIONS:
