Tom Creedon/Tadhg Crowley Cups These two competitions mark the return to competitive
action for 38 Senior and Intermediate Football clubs, as
they get underway on January 23rd. The draws were
made on Saturday, January 8th at Macroom Bookshop.

In attendance were Marian Creedon-Hegarty, former
Cork stars Kevin Kehilly and Colman Corrigan, officials of the Macroom and Clonakilty clubs and various club
representatives. The County Board was represented by
PRO Gerard Lane who particularly acknowledged the
generosity of Martin Fitzgerald of the Macroom Bookshop, sponsors of the Tom Creedon Cup.

Munster Council Grants The Munster Council Physical Development Grants were presented at Rochestown Park on December 20th, with
more than forty clubs present. The grants, amounting
to €444,721, were presented by Munster Council PRO
Jim Forbes, who complimented clubs for their efforts to improve their facilities and also thanked County
Treasurer Pearse Murphy and outgoing Development
Officer Jim Murphy for their work in this area.

Civic Reception for Footballers The Cork footballers were recently accorded a Civic
Reception by Cork City Council and Lord Mayor Michael
O’Connell in recognition of their success in winning both
the Division 1 Football League and the Sam Maguire Cup
in 2010. Players, Officers of the County Board and team management attended the reception and presentations
were made to captain, Graham Canty. County
Chairman Jerry O’Sullivan thanked the City Council for
their generous gesture.

Coiste Oiliúna Coaching Clinics Our GDA’s began the year with series of very successful
regional coaching sessions in Carbery, Beara, Muskerry,

Chontae Chorcaí 2011
takes place on January 25th at
8.30pm at Páirc Uí
Chaoimh.
Coaching Conference: Unlocking the Potential
Coiste Oiliúna Chorcaí is pleased to announce the Cork GAA Coaching Conference, “Unlocking the Potential”,
aimed at coaches of teenage players, which takes place
on February 5th from 9.30am to 3pm at CIT.
Coaches on the day will include Cork goalkeeper, Donal Og Cusack, former Mayo and Leitrim coach John
Morrison as well as other well-known names like Jamsie
O’Connor, Declan Browne and Mark McManus.
This conference will give coaches, managers, teachers,
mentors and other volunteers the opportunity to see and hear best practice methods at first hand, in relation
to maximising participation and performance at teenage
level. Young people today expect a high performance
from their coaches and demand to be challenged. Application forms and full details can be downloaded by
