- to give us power for heating & lighting

Waterdams • water supply pipelines • water treatment

drainage • sewage treatment

- to give us clean water & keep us healthy.

Structures

housing • office buildings • sports stadiums- to give us shelter to live work and play.

As well as many other facilitiesmaking up the built environment.

Civil Engineering at any level

from preparing drawings,

designing the structures

themselves, to building them onsite.

You need to enjoy maths, physics,

design and science; have a creative flair

and have an ability to be practical. You

will need anything from an OND to a

M.Eng in Civil Engineering from colleges or

universities.

Everything you do each day is touched by the work of the CivilEngineer from switching on the light in the morning, cleaning

your teeth, cooking your food by gas or electricity, travelling toschool by road or rail, learning at school, using your mobile

phone, to the airports and seaports you use to go on holiday.

What do Civil Engineers do? They design and build all of these facilities
