49 - 002KCuMIV F7 (MIV : Zr4+, Hf4+), a New Type of Structure. — Thetitle compounds are prepared by heating mixtures of KF, CuF2, and ZrF4 orHfF4, respectively (gold tube, 700 ◦C, 3 weeks). KCuZrF7 and KCuHfF7 areisotypic and crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Cmcm with Z = 8, asrevealed by single crystal XRD. Cu2+ is coordinated by six F− ions forming adistorted octahedron. Zr4+ is surrounded by eight F− forming a distorted cubicantiprism. The coordination number of potassium is 10. The CuF6 octahedraand the ZrF8 antiprisms both form chains along the [001] direction which areconnected to layers perpendicular to [100] by sharing edges. — (KRAUS,M.; MUELLER, B. G.; Z. Anorg. Allg.
