tourists/operators in order to guaran-tee a high quality public as well as pri-vate service.The Charter define the minimumstandards of quality offered by thehotel structures, non-hotel struc-tures and various accommodationstructures, as well as spas, restau-rants and it will become an essentialreference point for tourism, not onlyon a local level.
The document will be updated everyyear on the basis of the developmentof services and the demands oftourists and it will include the pro-gressive introduction of categoriescompatible with the area of tourism.
The operators that will take partin the Charter of Quality TourismServices will be identifiedby a sign with a specif-ic logo on display inthe agency or by visit-ing the website of thepromoting Authoritiesand Associations with an updated listof the categories taking part.
Definition and classificationof structures
With the Regional Law n. 16 dated 28thJuly 2004 "Discipline of structuresaimed at hospitality", the Emilia-RomagnaRegion has, on the one hand, intro-

The Charter of Quality TourismServices was born from an under-standing between the Chamber ofCommerce of Ravenna, the LocalGovernment, the Municipalities of theprovince, associations and the con-sumer associations.
The mutual objective is to protect andsustain the rights of tourists togetherwith those of tour operators and toprovide companies in the field with anadequate instrument in order to testand improve the quality achieved.
The general picture in which theCharter of Quality Tourism Services isdeveloped is definitely the one of re-qualification of tourism offers, as wellas simplification of relations between

duced important innovations in order tosimplify procedures and, on the otherhand, modified the requirements ofstructures, making communicationcapacities of the classification systemmuch easier. The objective of the law isto regulate all accommodation types byupdating and inserting, whenever nec-essary, new types.
